My role in Blue
In my role within the Customer Experience team at Blue Insurance, I focused on creating a new purchase journey for the product team and enhancing user experiences. This involved developing new features and addressing production issues for both the Blue website and the Blue App.
Project Background
This project aims to develop a new set of health questions for Blue's term life insurance products. These questions will allow customers to receive a quote based on their health conditions or illnesses by answering a few simple questions. In alignment with the requirements from the claims and product teams, we have designed new logic and UI/UX specifically for these health questions.
This includes simplifying the questions to ensure users can easily complete them and receive a quick quote afterward, as well as developing workflows to display various scenarios. Our goal is to enhance the overall journey for users filling out the health questions.

Responsive Design

Multiple Selection Question
• Introduce a "Get a Quick Quote" card that allows users to enter their information and view premium pricing.
• Organize insurance products into categories for easier navigation on the homepage.

Second Tier Questions Expand
• If the selection includes second-tier questions, those questions will expand upon selection

New Premium Breakdown
• After answering the questions, validation will occur upon clicking the submit button, with adjustments reflected in the premium field(s) based on any additional loadings.
• A new premium breakdown will be displayed after the health questions, showing the premium details when additional loadings are applied.
Flow

Conclusion
This project presented several challenges, as I had to navigate complex business requirement documents and the logic behind the extended health questions. Effective communication with various stakeholders—including the claims and product teams, compliance team, and development team—was essential to ensure the accuracy and smooth implementation of the new health questions. Usability testing was necessary, involving multiple rounds of testing with the testing team, followed by refinements and adjustments in collaboration with the development team.
